History
Northwest Hills Baptist Church has been ministering to the Northwest San Antonio community since the early 1960’s. Begun by a few very committed Christians meeting for prayer and worship in people’s homes, Northwest Hills soon began to grow and built their first facilities right off of Bandera Road just inside Loop 410. In 1985 the congregation moved to its current location at 6585 Heath Road, just off of Grissom a couple miles north of Loop 410.
In 1985 the new church building was on the outskirts of Northwest San Antonio, surrounded by empty fields and a few cows. Today we are surrounded by communities, schools and businesses in the heart of the Northside School District.
Northwest Hills is currently in a wonderful phase of growth and excitement. Our Christian School is thriving, expected to top 300 students in grades Pre-K thru 8th Grade. In 2007 we completed a beautiful new $1.3 million school building.
The Lord has blessed us with a beautiful 13 acre campus in the heart of Northwest San Antonio and we have been working hard over the past few years to update all of our facilities, including our Family Life Center, Sanctuary, Youth Building, Fellowship Hall and Sunday School wing.
The future has never been brighter for the family at Northwest Hills. With strong staff and deacon leadership, a growing youth and children’s ministry, we look forward to what God has in store for our church in the days to come.
